ALAO 2015 Preconference:
November 19, 2015
Are You Ready For Leadership?
Have you thought about being a leader in your organization or professional association? Are you prepared and do you have the skills necessary for that role?
In this workshop, facilitator Trevor A. Dawes will provide a brief overview of some types of leadership roles one can have within an organization or association and will lead attendees through a series of exercises to help them assess their readiness to assume leadership roles.
Whether you were "born to lead" or are now developing your leadership style, you will take away some tips that should help you become a more effective leader.
Who should attend: any librarian, archivist or information professional interested in assuming a leadership role now or in the future.
By the end of this program, participants will:
- Determine the type of leadership role they wish to assume
- Gain an understanding of leadership roles in library-related organizations and associations
- Create a personal leadership development plan
